This image shows the San Francisco's Church. This Church is in Castro, Chiloé .

I like this photo because I remmebers my vacations in Chiloé. I saw this church in the nigth, as in the photo. Is beautiful this church in the night, have a magic atmosphere than surrounds the principal's place of the city.

In the photo we can see the grand work of arquitecture that is this church. This church was made only wood. Also, it usedn`t nails in this construction, because used dowels for joining wood.

The photo reflects the dedications with which was this church, its because is single. Possibly, this was a reason by witch all church of Chiloé are considered Humanity`s Patrimony. But, is necessary protect the monument, for this image, not only a memory, and many people can enjoy every year. Because this church is a principal tourist attraction of Castro. Also, the San Francisco´s Church represents part of the traditions and culture from Chiloé.

ALAS in the Web

Internet have helped me to know about my career beyond the classroom. It is very useful in the sense that there are pages in internet where there is information about this discipline, and about activities of sociology.

Thus, when I searched about sociology work, I found there was an Association of Latin American Sociology (ALAS) and they met every two years to discuss issues of importance to discipline in our continent. This page is http://www.edicionalas.org/; through this I knew that next year the congress ALAS will take place in Buenos Aires, which is very good because as sociology career we are interested in attending it.

Also, this page may know about a publication that elaborates on this partnership and the discussions that are taking place in the continent. There is also a forum to propose and report issues relevant to me as a student, without this site I could not have known it.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is my personal computer. I bought the computer in May of 2007.

I love my computer because it is very uselful for my studies in the University, and also for others activities, like see dvds, listen music, draw pictures, read texts etc.

My computer have a very programs for the work and for the fun, for example, as a program to create movies. In this program I made a movie of my family. In this movie, I used many old photograps of my family and put them on the move through the program. This is a great!

Additionally, my computer catch the Internet signal to around my house. Thanks to this, I can a

check my e-mail and access to cyberspace free.

If I didn`t have my computer, I haven`t access to many information and diversion . I think what that would be very sad.

I study sociology in the University of Chile. I like my carreer, but I don`t like the administration of the Faculty because it is very unordered.
